Blog Post No. 2 — What am I writing about?

Now that I’ve established why I’m writing, I should probably mention what I’m going to be writing. I don’t really have a good answer to that question at the moment. All I can say is that I plan to write ‘anything of value.’ (This is another idea that I’ve encountered through Ali Abdaal) What that exactly means is something for me (and for you, the reader) to find out together on this journey, but I have a few rough ideas as I get this endeavor started.

This blog is named ‘Praxis.’ If you know your Greek, you’ll already know what I plan to generally write about. But, in case you don’t, ‘praxis’ is the process of taking a theory and engaging with it. More generally, it’s all the actions involved in learning an idea and applying it to the world around you. So, in line with this definition, I’ll be posting here the ideas that I’ve encountered throughout the week and my own engagements with those ideas, what I think of them and how I’ve tried to apply them. Hopefully, these records will prove useful to someone, out there in the sea of the Internet. Perhaps if I can ever muster up the courage, I might post samples of the short stories I write. For now, though, we’re sticking to praxis.

My goal for this stream is to have at least one new post every week for the next two months. There might be more, if I’m really dying to share an idea one day, but I’ll try to make sure that there isn’t anything less than an article per week. Of course, I’m most definitely going to miss one week or two, and I’ll have to accept that. I am, after all, a first-year in college, which naturally entails many misadventures that might take up my time, as I try to find my way.

I hope you’ll join me for this adventure, though. See you next week.
